Air quality monitoring in Pearse Street

Pearse Street station updates every two to five minutes with the calculated Air Quality Index for Health (AQIH) and the Air Quality Map shows you if air quality is good, fair, poor or very poor.You can find out if air quality is likely to affect your health and what you can do to protect your health on the Air Quality Index for Health page.

The site is located on Pearse Street, Dublin 2.

Monitoring is carried out using continuous monitors for ozone and oxides of nitrogen. The latest available results can be seen at the link below.

Historical Air Monitoring Information

The Pearse Street site was at the junction of Pearse Street and Westland Row, inside the grounds of Trinity College. Measurements were carried out from 16/07/1999 to 15/12/1999 and 06/04/2000 to 13/07/2000.

Monitoring was done using a mobile unit containing continuous monitors for sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide and benzene. Continuous samples were also taken for particulates (PM10) and lead.
