The Environmental Protection Agency manages the national ambient air quality monitoring network.

The Air Quality Index for Health  is calculated every hour and tells you if air quality is good, fair, poor or very poor in your region. The Ringsend site was located close to a residential area near Sean Moore Road, about 3 kilometres from the city centre.

Monitoring was conducted at the site from February 2009 to February 2012. Monitoring was done using continuous monitors for carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, PM10 and benzene. An assessment report is available to download.
