EPA - What We Do: This short animated video gives a brief visual overview of what the EPA does, our main functions and key responsibilities.
Climate Change lecture series: the EPA has recorded a number of lectures on climate change which have been held in Dublin. Each lecture is approx 1 hour long and the recordings also show the corresponding presentation slides and question and answer sessions.
Ireland's Environment: the EPA held a workshop on Ireland's Environment in November 2008 and each talk, which is approx 15 minutes long, is available to view with the corresponding presentation slides.
Eco Eye TV series: this television series explores key environmental topics in Ireland and has been aired on RTÉ 1. Series 6 and 7 are now available to view on our website and the various episodes have been divided by environmental topic.
Introduction to Ireland: This video looks at Ireland’s natural heritage and the impact we humans have had on the environment generally, from the first settlers through the Celtic Tiger and beyond. It outlines the key environmental challenges we now face and the case for being sustainable.
Waste Workshop: The Office of Environmental Enforcement at the EPA organised a Waste Workshop in October 2009 and talks by EPA staff, all approximately 15 minutes long, are available to view with the corresponding presentation slides.
Code of Practice: Wastewater Treatment serving Single Houses Workshop: The Office of Environmental Enforcement (OEE) at the EPA organised two Workshops for Local Authorities on the 30th March in Sligo and on the 1st April in Limerick on the new Code of Practice: Wastewater Treatment and Disposal Systems serving Single Houses and the three technical talks, ranging from 30 to 45 minutes long, are available to view with corresponding presentation and slides.
The powerpoint presentations of three other speakers are also available to view at the above link. These presentations offer the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government's perspective and the experiences of both Sligo and Limerick County Councils in implementing the Code of Practice.
Local Authority Prevention Network (LAPN) Conference: On 3 June 2010, the EPA hosted a conference at Croke Park in Dublin to showcase waste prevention and resource efficiency programmes being carried out by local authorities as part of the National Waste Prevention Programme.
Ireland's Sustainable Future: As a partner event to the National Environmental Research Conference, the EPA organised a public lecture by John FitzGerald (ESRI) and Frank Convery (COMHAR) in June 2010.
Biodegradable Municipal Waste (BMW) Workshop: The EPA held a workshop on 24th June 2010, the objective of which was to present information to landfills operators and other stakeholders in relation to the calculation and reporting of BMW disposed of at landfills.
