On 15 June 2007 the Environmental Protection Agency prosecuted Irish Cement Limited at Limerick District Court. The Company pleaded guilty to a charge relating to the unauthorised emission of dust to the atmosphere on the 19 October 2006.
On hearing details of the offence from an EPA Inspector Judge O’Donnell imposed a fine of €1,250 and EPA costs of €11,555 were also awarded.
