Subsidence at Magheracloone GAA club, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan

The EPA is investigating an incident involving land subsidence at the grounds of Magheracloone GAA club, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan.

The EPA was notified of the incident by Saint-Gobain Construction Products Ireland Limited who hold an Industrial Emissions Licence (Reg. No. P0519-03) to operate a mine and gypsum processing facility in Counties Monaghan and Meath respectively.  The licensee is currently assessing the situation to identify the reason for, and extent of, the subsidence.  The EPA’s priority is to ensure a full investigation is undertaken and the necessary corrective measures are put in place to prevent a recurrence.
