Kerdiffstown Fire
Brigades from four counties are continuing to fight the landfill fire at Kerdiffstown, Naas today (3 February). A fire break is being excavated and inroads are being made into the burning material.

The site remains a very dangerous area and people should not enter it for any reason.

While air quality is recovering, the fire is still emitting a narrow plume, or band, of smoke which can travel several miles from Kerdiffstown depending on wind and other weather conditions. The HSE has repeated its advice that people should avoid the plume and stay inside, with windows and doors shut, whenever it is passing over their houses or other premises.
