EPA prosecutes Irish Water (Belmullet) D0074-01

On 15th June 2022, the Environmental Protection Agency prosecuted Irish Water (Belmullet) at The Four Courts.
Irish Water pleaded guilty to:
- Failure to comply with Condition 1.3 on the 17th of February 2020, in that there was a discharge of waste water from a storm waster overflow at the Sea Road Pumping Station in to Blacksod Bay, being a discharge from the waste water works which is not a listed authorised discharge as set out Schedule A of the said licence.
Judge Halpin, having heard the evidence convicted Irish Water and imposed a fine of €400. Costs were also awarded.
