Project Abstract
The aim of this fellowship is to manage and provide coordination, writing and support to facilitate the seamless collaboration, collation and dissemination of the 5YAR-1. It will then place the four volumes in the context of the outputs from international assessments such as the IPCC AR6.
Drawing upon experience with the IPCC AR6 and the WMOs GCOS Reference Upper Air Network (GRUAN), skills will be developed to curate a Document Management System that will enable the secure storage and exchange of the 5YAR-1 report through its inception, evolution and progression to final draft.
Through stakeholder workshops and writer meetings, the workflow process will be developed, and Terms of Reference outlined. The development of a national assessment and analysis capacity will also be incorporated. Building upon contacts within IPCC and with various national assessment teams to learn best practices, a methodology and template for future reports will be a key output component.
Relevant messaging through the four volumes will be assessed continually, in parallel with ensuring consistency, language and tone. Finally, communications plans including potentially a Climate Dashboard will be employed to communicate harmonised climate messages to stakeholders, policymakers and outreach targets, based upon the synthesis report and other salient findings
