Project Abstract
This project aims to develop scalable biorefinery processes using Nannochloropsis to valorise AD waste into ?-3 PUFAs and protein for feed application. Specifically, the project will develop 1) chemical/mechanical treatment to release digestate nutrients for microalgae assimilation, 2) membrane technology for the efficient delivery of CO2 into microalgae, 3) microalgae-biomass inclusions strategy for ruminants and monogastric feeding. The project will complement technology developments with life-cycle and socio-economic analyses to demonstrate scalability.
