Project Abstract

This project will develop a transportable energy storage system, to enhance the flexibility and resilience of the power grid, reducing curtailment and constraint of renewable electricity generation. Sodium-nickel chloride batteries represent a more sustainable battery technology compared to lithium-ion batteries and by being flexibly localised to different places of the power network it will seek to address grid congestion and provide demand side management.
