Project Abstract
Work from Phase III of the EPA-ESRI research programme showed that householders’ willingness to test for radon is sensitive to how risk is communicated. A randomised controlled trial (RCT) to test ways to increase testing rates remains to be completed and is planned for September 2022, when the necessary infrastructure within the EPA is established (capacity for issuing and analysing radon detectors). This project will build on the findings from the RCT and on-going citizen science research to promote remediation rates (leaving scope to instead prioritise testing rates, depending on the sample established from the RCT).
