Project Abstract
This Research Fellowship will evaluate existing EPA interventions aimed at enabling Behaviour Change for Sustainable Development in Irish businesses and households. It will then propose improved or new interventions based on the most current understanding of behaviour change. The Fellowship will take an interdisciplinary perspective and involve a literature review, desk research, scoping discussions with experts, workshops and action research using ethnographic methods and design research. The Research Fellow will engage local communities and businesses in the co-design of interventions and work with the EPA on aligning and integrating new or improved interventions with existing and future Resource Efficiency Programmes. The Research Fellow will be supported by an advisory panel from departments across the University of Limerick alongside a panel of experts from the UK Technology Strategy Board, two leading Behavioural Science research centres in the UK, Dublin City Council, Limerick Smarter Travel and a selection of universities that specialise in sustainable design and behaviour change research (e.g. Loughborough, Royal College of Art, Delft, Open University and NCAD Dublin).
