Project Abstract
This project enables post consumer HDPE bottles to be used as an alternative to virgin resin for high margin automotive applications. This will enable premium users of virgin HDPE to achieve competitive advantage by having a more competitive source of material available in sufficient volumes. The project will enable municipal recovery facilities to sell their materials at global market prices locally in Ireland without having to export the materials, thus reducing transportation costs, reducing the payment cycle and lowering the carbon footprint based on real economic sense rather than solely for green credentials
