Project Abstract

The project aims at documenting long-term changes i- both natural and anthropogenic i- in the lower Corribcatchment. It involves pollen and macrofossil analyses and stable isotope investigations to be carried outon thick marl and peat deposits in the lower Corrib basin with a view to investigating palaeoenvironmentalchange over the course of the post-glacial. In particular the aim is to investigate limnic changes includinglake levels and trophic status and the effects of climate change and human activity on both limnic andterrestrial environments.
