Project Abstract
This project will provide a crucial overview of the non-waste reuse sector of Ireland. By developing methodologies for the quantitative and qualitative assessment of the sector, it will provide policy makers, stakeholders and practitioners with a clear overview of the sector and how it is performing. The quantitative data will allow Ireland to benchmark its reuse sector against those of other Member States. It will also allow benchmarking our current status against future performance. This is vital as Europe moves towards a Circular Economy model. The project will also provide an overview of what is happening elsewhere, especially best practice, so the best possible methodologies can be applied, and where there are gaps in the information, we may find ways of bridging such gaps. There will be a wide range of outputs throughout the project. Some of these will be formal reports, others support materials that will be used in the future. The following provides an overview of the main outputs expected: Review of reuse quantification elsewhere Definition of reuse for Ireland Methodology of gathering information Database of reuse in Ireland Report on qualitative analysis of reuse in Ireland Methodology for quantification of reuse in Ireland Pilot of quantification methodology with practitioners Reports on reuse quantification Project communication strategy Live and updated website Social media campaigns Regional Stakeholder workshops and Dissemination events One national and one international conference presentation Newsletter and editorial content Peer reviewed journal articles Final report
