Project Abstract
Economic: Demonstration partners are likely to reduce their waste production, creating new revenue streams from by-products while increasing their resilience. Mapping wider industrial symbiosis opportunities in Longford will lead to the identification of new revenue opportunities. Environmental: This project demonstrates how industrial synergies can lead to waste reductions. Social: This project has the potential to lead to the creation of jobs if the co-products are successfully launched. Furthermore, investing in a craft brewery is estimated to create considerable indirect benefits to the local community. Findings will be disseminated through the case study, project infographic; good practice guide and policy report.
