Project Abstract
Cryptosporidiosis is a gastro-intestinal infection usually contracted through consumption of drinking waters contaminated with Cryptosporidium oocysts. An effective risk assessment model is being developed to forecast risk of catchment water contamination by oocycsts. A suitable catchment for parameterising and testing the model had to be selected. This paper documents the procedure and criteria so that any influence the catchment may have on the final model results can be clearly understood.
