This infographic displays the key findings of the published report "PLASTICS: Attitudes and behaviours in Ireland 2019-2021". Plastics is a priority area of the EPA-led Circular Economy Programme. One of the ways the programme works is through providing data and evidence, building knowledge and informing policy. To provide baseline information on the Irish public’s behaviours & attitudes to plastic and plastic waste, the EPA commissioned Behaviour & Attitudes (‘B&A’) to conduct online surveys of nationally representative samples of adults aged 16+ and report on the findings.

The EPA’s Circular Economy Conference will take place at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin, and online on 22 September. The programme is being finalised but we can reveal some of the great topics and organisations that we will have at this year's conference. The programme consists of four sessions: • Setting the scene - featuring EPA DG Laura Burke, Minister Ossian Smyth and representatives from government departments implementing circular economy policy; • Measurement Matters – with presentations on indicators for circular economy, food waste statistics and food waste measurement, featuring Irish and European speakers including the OECD and Finnish Environment Institute SKYE; • Regulation for Circularity – including an EU perspective on end of waste, an EPA presentation on developing national criteria for construction-based materials and an Irish case study on end of waste for plastics; • Circular Solutions - where we will hear from organisations implementing circular economy business models
