CCRP 30 - John Sweeney et al
Summary: Co-ordination, Communication and Adaptation for Climate Change in Ireland: an Integrated Approach
A blueprint for climate change adaptation was published by the European Commission in 2009 in recognition of the profound effects climate change is likely to have throughout the continent. This was followed in 2012 by the European Climate Adaptation Platform or Climate-ADAPT, an initiative designed to help member states consider the current and future vulnerability of regions and sectors, and develop adaptation tools, strategies, and options, to cope with expected climate change.
At the end of 2012 Ireland published its own National Climate Change Adaptation Framework.
The following report seeks to contribute to this process. What follows is an abbreviated version of the work. A fuller account of the research is available online at EPA.ie and in three standalone reports on Water, Biodiversity and Governance.
