There are two broad areas of change responsibility that we all need to embrace:
Mitigation is about changing how we live, move, consume and manufacture so as to reduce and/or eliminate the production of harmful greenhouse gases: and it includes how we best use our land.
Adaptation refers to dealing with the expected impacts of climate change and involves taking practical actions to manage risks, protect communities and strengthen the resilience of the economy (e.g., from sea level rise).
A recent survey conducted by the EPA shows that 61% of adults cite climate change as being within the top three environmental concerns to tackle. While climate change should be led at a political level with policy and legislation, it is also up to each one of us to play our part. By doing this we will all be assisting in driving the change for our planet, remembering all the team there is no Planet B!
